All About Affirmations

Affirmations are an intentional form of self-talk aimed at instilling positive messages. They are typically one or two sentence positive statements spoken or read with repetition.
Our lives are a byproduct of our beliefs. It is our beliefs that determine how we feel, the actions we take, and how we speak to ourselves. Those beliefs can be supportive, such as “I am talented,” “I am loved,” or “life works out for the best” or they can create obstacles. When you notice that you no longer want to be friends with the voice in your mind, it is time to take an inventory of your beliefs and instill new positive thoughts to live by.

Positive thinking a simple way to shift your focus and self talk toward more empowering communication. By saying, thinking, or reading positive statements you are emphasizing the truths that you want to live by. The more you can feel the reality of your new thoughts in an authentic way the greater their power.

So often when we want to change something, we go at it with pressure to fix what we perceive as wrong. When life gets uncomfortable, we hurry for answers and, especially when trying to think positive, we tend to feel worried or stressed about all of our negative thoughts. It is okay. Life is a process, not a destination. Go at this with intention and trust that you are exactly where you need to be.
