Inspirational Books
I have spent countless afternoons sitting on the floor of a bookstore staring at the vast array of inspirational books. I have put this section together to help you weed through the resources available. There are so many talented authors out there to motivate and inspire us. Their message has a common element of being positive and taking charge of your mind and your life; however, each also has something different to offer. I have tried to identify the unique spin each book has. Positive thinking is not something I do once. I do not believe there is one book that offers everything a person would desire to know on this topic. I found that to keep myself motivated and keep my belief in positive thinking strong, I have to continually read and listen to inspirational material. There is so much negativity out in the world that I need a positive force greater than those negative messages to keep my experiences abundant and joyful. Better Than Good: Creating a Life You Can't Wait to Live ***My husband really connected with this book. Even gave it to an old boss of mine as a gift. Ziglar enhances the idea of living the attitude that you want to have now before the reality that promotes it shows up.***
Beyond Positive Thinking: A No-Nonsense Formula for Getting the Results You Want ***Clearly defines a step by step process for implementing positive prayer.***
Why People Don't Heal and How They Can ***Myss is straight forward. She has the innate ability to see right through the b.s. people put forward. She recognizes the benefits people get from being 'sick' and sticks to her guns about how to break through the images we paint ourselves with. I adored this video.***
Three Levels of Power and How to Use Them ***Myss is very clear in her explanation of how to use the three levels of power. On netflix this comes as a companion with Why People Don't Heal and How they Can which I would recommend watching together.***
The Celestine Prophecy ***Video: A beautiful visual representation and story of raising consciousness.***
Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want in Your Life (Gawain, Shakti) ***A go-to resource for visualization exercises. A good place to start if you are just learning how to use your imagination to focus on intention.***
Developing Intuition: Practical Guidance for Daily Life ***Clearly describes how to create a connection with your inner voice through hands-on exercises. Good beginner guide as it also tell you how to distinguish you intuition from other self talk voices you hear.***
Feel the Fear . . . and Do It Anyway (r) ***Jeffers is a champion of the power of affirmations. I like her "Beginners Intensive for Positive Thinking" in chapter 5. Her book also has a big focus on taking action to overcome fear which is an approach that most people could benefit from.***
Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia ***This book made me yearn to become devoted to
learning how to meditate.
