The Law of Attraction Paradox

The law of attraction paradox is preventing your success. I am becoming more and more aware of the paradox, and I finally had to say something.

The law of attraction is the principle that “like attracts like.” In most self-help circles, this is understood as the idea that your thoughts, beliefs and emotions attract life experiences that reinforce what you have been focusing on. We have been taught that by shifting our focus to “the positive” or to “what we want to attract” we will be able to manifest it.

Here’s the issue. The simple act of choosing what you want to attract has a sub-message that says,

“Something is not right in my life.”

While you may be focused on what you want to create, you are inherently un-accepting of things as they are currently. This has a certain energy frequency that implies that you are not okay, not whole, not satisfied, not fulfilled. “I want this” means “I don’t want what I have.” That is a repelling energy, not an attracting one.

We need to RADICALLY shift the way we are approaching this work. I’ve been reading, reading, reading, devouring everything I can get my hands on to look and see what is really going on. The place that I know we can all start from is acceptance. Welcoming what our life is with open arms. Welcoming all of it. No picking and choosing: I like this, I don’t like that.

The story we tell ourselves that one thing is “good” and another thing is “bad” is exactly what is keeping us wanting what we don’t already have. As Shakespers Hamlet said, “…nothing either good or
bad, but thinking makes it so.”

The law of attraction as it is traditionally practiced is a paradox. One that may be keeping you frustrated.

Ask over and over again, “what am I not accepting in my life?” I know that is where you will find the block to your ultimate fulfillment.
